Fast-track your career in public relations.

DGPR Launchpad is our train-to-hire program for new graduates who are ready to build a career in technology public relations. This isn’t an internship. It’s a paid, structured, six-month career accelerator with a clear pathway to a permanent position at one of Canada’s leading tech PR firms. You’ll work on real client accounts, develop your craft under the guidance of senior practitioners, and emerge from the program with the skills, relationships, and confidence to grow quickly in this industry.

THE WORK

You won’t be watching from the sidelines.

From your first week, you’ll be embedded in active client programs across our technology portfolio of innovative businesses that are shaping the future. What you’ll do:

Support client accounts and help keep programs moving forward

Write and edit press releases, pitches, briefing notes, and thought leadership content

Execute media relations outreach and build relationships with key journalists

Research industry trends and timely news hooks to support client strategy

Contribute to speaker submissions, award entries, and campaign planning

Monitor media coverage and build reports with actionable insights

Work across integrated campaigns spanning paid, earned, and owned media

Present work to senior team members and, in later stages, directly to clients

THE CURRICULUM

Six months. Three phases. One career launched.

Launchpad is structured in three progressive phases, each building on the last. You’ll move from observer to contributor to owner at a pace designed to challenge you without losing you.

Phase 1 – Months 1–2

Foundation

Getting fluent in the craft, the clients, and the industry.

Agency orientation: tools, workflows, clients, and culture.
Tech PR landscape: how B2B and technology communications differ from consumer PR.
Media relations fundamentals: research, pitching, journalist relationships.
Writing boot camp: press releases, bios, briefing documents, bylines.
Shadowing on client calls and active campaigns.

Phase 2 – Months 3–4

Immersion

Contributing real work with real accountability.

Assigned to 2–3 active client accounts with a dedicated senior mentor
Supporting media pitch development and tracking results
Contributing to campaign strategy and planning decks
Thought leadership and executive profiling projects
Midpoint review and career development conversation with leadership

Phase 3- Months 5–6

Ownership

Getting fluent in the craft, the clients, and the industry.

Increased account responsibility

Client communication and reporting

News/trend tracking and flagging

Final review and permanent hire offer conversation

Mentorship

Every Launchpad participant is paired with a senior DGPR practitioner who serves as your primary guide throughout the program, every step of the way. You’ll have regular 1:1s with both your mentor as well as our founder and CEO.

Skills Development

Dedicated training sessions throughout the program covering PR strategy, media relations, writing craft, client management, and the business of communications.

Career Guidance

Launchpad milestones are designed to build your portfolio and your confidence. At the end of the program, we’ll support you in documenting your experience and accomplishments — whether that’s for your new role at DGPR or beyond.

ELIGIBILITY & DETAILS

Who should apply.

Launchpad is open to recent graduates who are ready for a full-time commitment. You do not need prior agency experience, but you do need strong writing skills, genuine curiosity, and the drive to grow fast.

Eligibility

  • Recent graduates or final-semester students with no remaining coursework
  • Available for the full 6-month program duration (no late starts or early exits)
  • Based in or able to work from Vancouver, BC

Timing

The program runs on a rolling basis. Applications are reviewed as received. We do not accept participants who cannot commit to the full six-month program duration.

Location

DGPR Launchpad participants are based in our Downtown Vancouver office on a hybrid schedule, with regular collaboration across our Toronto and London UK teams.

DGPR Launchpad is our six-month, train-to-hire program for new graduates who are ready to build a real career in technology public relations. You won’t be making coffee or watching from the sidelines, you’ll be working on live campaigns for real clients, writing content that gets published, and pitching journalists who cover the world’s most influential technology brands. Every step of the way you will be supported by an immersive training program, senior mentors and structured career development checkpoints.

    • A degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field
    • Strong writing skills — clear, concise, and compelling across formats
    • Genuine curiosity about technology and the companies shaping the future
